Tour Overview



Be ready for pickup at 10.00 am at your Salzburg hotel. Your journey will take you to hidden gems of the Lakes and Mountains Region. Start with the Ploetz Waterfall and marvel at this unique waterfall,
before arriving at the first lake. Capture a picture of the castle of Fuschl with the emerald-green lake as its backdrop.

Continue on the original tour route of the Sound of Music to St. Gilgen with lake Wolfgang. On an off the beaten track road to another great hidden view point overlooking lake Wolfgang.

Continue to lakes number two, three, and four. Passing the very small lake Krottensee on your way to the lake Mondsee. In Mondsee, you can visit the Church St. Michael which was used as the wedding church in Sound of Music.



Next, you will head to Unterach located at lake Attersee, the summer domicil of Gustav Klimt since 1900. After stopping at the Gustav Klimt memorial in Unterach, admire the beauty of the lakes and mountains on an off-the-beaten Track
Road from Unterach to Bad Ischl. The town where the emperor Franz Joseph was spending every summer and also had his Summer House there.

From Bad Ischl to St. Wolfgang, another charming lake-side village. Get dropped off right in the town’s center, where no cars are allowed. Enjoy an Austrian beer or take a coffee at the lake (own expense). The rack train up the Schafberg
is an option in good weather and offers breathtaking views of the lakes and mountains.

After eight hours exploring the beautiful lake-district region, your private tour will conclude with drop-off at your Salzburg hotel.
